Wiper Democratic Movement vice chairman Mutula Kilonzo Jnr has faulted last week's move by the Luo council of elders to throw their weight behind Cord co-principals Raila Odinga in the 2017 polls.
Speaking Saturday in his Makueni turf, Senator Kilonzo said the move by the elders was in bad taste for the opposition which is yet to settle on a suitable presidential flag bearer to square it out with President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 2017 polls.
"That declaration and statements to the effect that Kalonzo Musyoka should be an underdog in Cord will upset the Wiper team and unless it is addressed, it is may spoil the Opposition coalition," he said.
He called upon the coalition affiliates to rein in their supporters for the sake of unity in the outfit.
The opposition has lately been embroiled in a rivalry with both the three co-principals Raila, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula seeking to fly its flag.
