Speaking on Radio Jambo on Saturday, Mwaura noted that a section of politicians drawn from the DP's Rift Valley backyard are involved in unhealthy politicking which is likely to cost him the presidency in the approaching 2022 general elections.

''The Deputy President has to tame his handlers some of whom have gone to the extreme in trying to drum up support for his presidential bid. They should be soft on Kenyans and device better vote hunting methods as their current technique is actually disadvantageous,'' said the lawmaker.

He accused the leaders of overconfidence, noting that majority of them leaders are first timers who are yet to realize the possible outcome of their anxiety.

''There are millions of Kenyans who are willing to vote Ruto but are likely to reconsider the decision basing on his close allies' behaviors and moves. He is surrounded by a group of reckless political brokers whose company he does not need and some of whom are completely inexperienced,'' he added.

He named Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei as one of the young leaders misleading Ruto.
