Kitui senator Enoch Wambua has backed NASA’s call for no elections if their electoral reforms demands are not met. Wambua stated that these demands should be upheld regardless of the Supreme Court ruling that elections should be held within 60 days, which expire on November 1.
Speaking to Journalists at Kauwi AIC in Kitui West, Wambua said that IEBC seems not ready to prepare and run a free and fair election.
“For us, we cannot see an election before what our principals have tabled as irreducible minimums are fulfilled,” Wambua said.
The senator said that Kitui voters want NASA leader Raila Odinga to be their president. He faulted President Uhuru Kenyatta for being in office irregularly and illegally and promised to correct the mess in fresh polls after NASA is offered a level playing ground.
“The Supreme Court has made a determination that the process through which Uhuru was declared President was flawed, irregular and illegal. That must be cured and corrected through a fresh free, fair and credible election,” he added.
