Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has been accused of soliciting a bribe from an aspirant in the county.Changamwe MP hopeful Peterson Mitau on Saturday alleged that Omar, who is also the Wiper Party secretary general, asked him for a Sh1 million bribe to help him secure the Wiper ticket during the recently concluded nominations.Omar has however denied the allegations, saying Mitau should provide evidence instead of making such malicious claims. This comes a month after a section of Wiper members in Mombasa demanded for a repeat of the party primaries, terming them a sham. The members led by Mombasa Wiper Democratic Party Coordinator Afiya Rama said the Party leadership was discriminative and had already identified those to be handed nomination certificates, ignoring old and loyal members.
