The Senator for Mombasa Hassan Omar has disputed claims that Cord coalition is playing politics in the unearthed Afya House scandal where a sum of Sh5bn was lost.
Speaking to NTV on Sunday October 30, Senator Omar said the opposition had the right to seek clarification on matters that were of national concern.
"The opposition is not playing politics on this critical matter. As the opposition, we are entitled to seek clarification on matters that are of national interest including this Afya House scandal where the country lost Sh5bn. We must seek clarification," said Omar.
The Senator also added that the country was reeling in corruption scandals every day and that this was not a good sign for the country.
He was countering Kiharu MP Irungu Kangata who claimed that the opposition was playing politics on the issue.
