Residents in Kisii county have accused President Uhuru Kenyatta for what they termed as an attempt to frustrate opposition leaders. This is after the government withdrew security details of Kisii Senator Prof. Sam Ongeri together with several other National Super Alliance (NASA) legislators.Speaking in Kisii town on Saturday, the residents asked the Jubilee government respect the opposition leader's stand and stop intimidating them."Leaders allied to NASA have a right to be protected but the Jubilee government's decision to withdraw security is unconstitutional. Interior CS Fred Matiang'i should know good leaders like the late George Saitoti served in the same docket but they were not using force like he is doing now," said Fred Erick, one of the residents."Matiang'i will be used and dumped by the Jubilee government. Let him stop using police officers to intimidate and blackmail opposition leaders. We want security to Senator Ongeri reinstated failure to which we will hold peaceful demos to show him that we are aware of what he is doing," he added.Another resident Maurice Onditi said withdrawal of NASA leader's security won't scare away their supporters."Our stand remains that we don't recognize Uhuru as President. He stole elections and he should leave NASA leaders to help this country," he said.
