Firebrand Nairobi politician Elizabeth Ongoro has reportedly decamped from the Orange Democratic Movement party.

The move is as a result of a disciplinary action taken against her by the party.

According to the Standard, the nominated senator defected citing frustrations by the party.

The paper said ODM had barred her from contesting the Ruaraka parliamentary seat after her supporters clashed with those of her opponent TJ Kajwang.

Efforts to reach Ongoro were futile and we could not confirm the party she is headed to.

A close ally, however, hinted the outspoken politician will join one of the parties under the NASA umbrella.
