Siaya County Senator James Orengo has with boldness said that he is ready for investigations following corruption allegations after his name featured in the secret list of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
While lauding President Uhuru Kenyatta for the bold step in fighting the graft, Senator Orengo said that he is ready and willing to pay any price if found to be guilty of any corrupt allegations.
This come barely a day after President Kenyatta directed all those involved in corruption to step a side to pave way for a smooth investigations into the allegations.
“I am ready to pay any price even at a personal level so that these corruption issues be dealt with once and for all,” said Orengo.
Orengo who was speaking during the official opening of the newly constructed Kisumu Court of Appeal in Kisumu today (Friday), urged all state officers to be involved in the process to clean the country of corruption.
He said that the commitment now being witnessed from the Executive is a good move in the right direction to fight corruption.
Orengo said that the government will fully meet its promise to Kenyans only if corruption is dealt with accordingly without favouritism whatsoever.
He is optimistic that the agencies tasked with investigating individuals mentioned in the EACC list will move with speed to carry out a commendable job.
“All institutions that are concerned should move with speed to help the government resolve this problem through thorough investigations,” urged Orengo.
Senator Orengu however told President Kenyatta to make sure that what he said was not just mere words, but should be seen taking immediate effect to set an example to those with intention of engaging in corrupt deals.
