The duo earlier on denied allegations that they led a group of irate youth who descended on an IEBC training session convened at the Nyanza Regional Headquarter shortly before the October 26 repeat Presidential polls.

The two among other ODM leaders publicly declared that their actions were aimed at ensuring that the repeat polls which were later largely boycotted never took place in Kisumu and other areas aligned to the National Super Alliance (NASA).

This came after a directive from Former Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Keriako Tobiko who directed that the two be charged before a court of Law for committing the said offence that is also alleged to have culminated to destruction of property.

When the two leaders appeared in court later last year, they were released on a personal bond of 500,000 shillings each.

The case will be heard by Chief Magistrate Julius Ng’arng’ar.
