A senator allied to the Jubilee government has come out to explain the real reason why Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka failed to grace the 'swearing-in' in of Raila Odinga on Tuesday.

According to Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Kalonzo's absence was all linked to the NASA flagbearer situation.

Speaking on Friday in the Rift Valley, Murkomen said that failure to name Kalonzo as the flagbearer in 2017 has led to divisions within the opposition block.

“My brother Kalonzo could not attend the so-called swearing-in ceremony because he was denied the opportunity to be the Opposition’s flag bearer in 2013, 2017 and has already sensed danger ahead of 2022,” said Murkomen.

Murkomen further added that the opposition cannot be trusted with the country's leadership due to wrangles.

If Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetang’ula, Musalia Mudavadi and Raila Odinga can’t just agree while in the opposition, what about if they take over the leadership of this country? It will be chaotic,” he said.

Raila was sworn in on Tuesday as the People's President on Tuesday.

The controversial oath has led to criticism from different quarters including the international community.
