Speaking in parliament, the President apologized to Kenyans and the political class over his possible past mistakes, kicking off a national forgiveness campaign.

With Kenyatta, however, failing to mention the wrongdoings behind the decision, Kajwang now says that the move was well thought, as specification would translate to a confession which would be disadvantageous to his leadership.

"The President was right to not go into details on the reasons behind his apologies. Confessing would be legally dangerous as it would set the grounds for any Kenyan to table his impeachment motion basing on his self-implication" he said on Radio Maisha Thursday morning.

With the move receiving a clean bill of health from both sides of the political divide, being hailed by both the ruling Jubilee Party and opposition members alike, the Senator urged all Kenyans, including a section which might not be in support of him, to rally behind the President in implementing the push.

"This is a good move by the President and we as Kenyans have to grant him the benefit of a doubt and allow him to lead the way in the implementation, of the same" added the lawmaker.
