Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge has blamed Nakuru Senator James Mungai for the county's poor performance.

Njoroge who is eyeing the county gubernatorial position was speaking during the Nakuru gubernatorial aspirants debate held at the Egerton University in Njoro Nakuru Thursday where he accused Senator Mungai of neglecting his oversight duties immediately after he was elected into office after the 2013 general polls.

''Our county is messed up because the governor does what he want since there is no one to correct him.The senator forgot his oversight job once he was elected and has been missing in action ever since,'' said Njoroge,a KANU candidate.

When asked what he did for the county during his tenure as a nominated lawmaker which could be used to test his elligibility for the post,Njoroge defended himself saying that he was not nominated to represent the entire population but to look into the interests of persons living with disabilities.

''I was elected to nominated persons and i have done it with passion and whatever i have done for the other people is just out of generosity because that is not my mandate.I am however ready to represent the entire population now hence my decision to run for governor,'' he said.

Senator Njoroge will have to battle it out with Jubilee's Lee Kinyanjui,Peter Koros of CCM and John Mututho and James Mungai both of whom are vying independently to acsend to the post.
