Speaking on Wednesday in an interview with a vernacular radio station, the legislator cautioned the Opposition against making such remarks, saying they could throw the country into chaos ahead of the August polls.

"Raila should know we are not snakes; we are the sons of freedom fighters. We are not silent because we fear him. It is because we love our nation," he said.

Cord leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday claimed that the National Intelligence Service (NIS) was registering Ugandans and Ethiopians as voters, warning that it could be a ploy by the Jubilee administration to rig the August polls.

"NIS is also assisting the citizens of these countries to acquire Kenyan identification documents, cross into Kenya and register as voters," Odinga claimed in a statement.
