Nandi Senator Stephen Sang has pledged to right governor Cleophas Lagat's wrongs if he wins the county's top seat during the forthcoming general elections.

Senator Sang floored governor Lagat in the battle for the Jubilee Party ticket on Tuesday.

In an address to the press, the legislator pledged to prioritise the health sector, pledging to improve accessibility of healthcare and services.

“Nandi county had the highest number of strikes by health workers, some lasting for more than three months,” he noted.

“It’s shocking that with all the resources given to us, residents of Nandi still had to travel all the way to Eldoret for treatment because our hospitals are not working," he added.

He further thanked Nandi residents for having faith in his candidature, expressing confidence in winning the governorship during the August polls.

“I’m happy that my dream to be governor is almost [being realised] and I thank the people of Nandi for believing in me,” he said.
