President Uhuru Kenyatta has been slammed for disrespecting NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga during the Madaraka Day fete in Nyeri last week.
Speaking on Thursday during a rally in Mariakani, Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo said it was a shame for the country to fail to recognize the people who fought for the country's second liberation.Madzayo who accused the President of being a hypocrite said it is ironical for the Head of State to advocate for unity yet “he is the most divisive figure in the country.”The Senator asked residents to back Raila's fourth stab at the Presidency, arguing that he is the only one who has the interests of the region at heart.Madzayo further challenged the residents to turn out in large numbers to vote for Raila during the August 8 polls.On her part, Kibarani MCA Gertrude Mbeyu who is eying the Kilifi Women Representative position accused the government of frustrating the county's development agenda due to Governor Amason Kingi's political stand.
