Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has condemned the media fraternity for failing to air the situation the University of Nairobi following alleged incidences of police brutality on the students.

This comes after the videos emerged of police office allegedly beating up students who were taking part in anti-IEBC protests.

According to Mutulam who was speaking on NTV during a political discussion, the media is a big let down in the fight to liberate the nation from poor governance.

"Shame on the media for failing to air the situation at the University of Nairobi even though they were present at the scene. Shame on you,"  Kilonzo Jnr said.

The institution has since been closed indefinitely and students directed to vacate halls of residence by Tuesday 9 am.

According to the Director of Corporate Affairs John Orindi, the decision was reached because of security concerns.

"We will announce when the institution will re-open," said Mr Orindi as quoted by Nation.

The closure comes after students engaged the General Service Unit riot team after the arrest of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.
