The vocal senator called upon the government to reconsider the move to bomb the forest as the fight for the militia continues in different parts of the nation.
He noted that if it is mandatory to bomb the forest then the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) should only consider the areas where the militia are suspected of hiding.
“If they must bomb, then they should narrow it to areas that are feasible to avoid wildlife, livestock and even human casualties,” Haji said, as quoted by Star.
He also said that he is supporting the fight against the terror suspects but he is not for an action that will affect the lives of the common mwananchi.
“In as much as we fully support the government’s move to flush out the militants, who cause human suffering, the exercise should not be seen to be threatening the lives and livelihoods of our people.” he added.
He further said that directing the pastoralist communities in the forest to vacate is a major blow to their lives.
