Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo junior has said that National Super Alliance (NASA) is likely to call for a referendum following President Uhuru Kenyatta’s declaration as the winner of the just concluded general election, Nairobi News has reported.

The senator’s tweet came after outgoing Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama revealed that the opposition will soon announce its next move after Former Prime minister Raila Amolo Odinga was defeated by Uhuru in one of the most watched presidential races in the history of this nation.

The outspoken senator, who retained his post following the election, also suggested a change in the devolution system in order to ensure that all Kenyans benefit from the resources of the nation as per his school of thought.

He wrote: “A referendum to allocate more resources to counties and change of governance is one of the solutions to the curse of presidential elections.”

The tweet of the senator attracted mixed reactions from Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) with those from the opposition seemingly backing him for the same.

The sentiments of the senator come after other leaders of NASA said that they will not go to court over the matter following the announcement of the results.
