Nyamira Senator Okong'o Mong'are has urged Nyamira residents to invest in educating the girl child.
In a phone interview on Monday, Mong'are condemned early marriages and urged parents and guardians to ensure girls are given the same priority as boys when it comes to matters education.
"Early marriages are messing up the education of our girls in Gusiiland because without education, we won't prosper economically and I urge parents to ensure girls are educated," said Mong'are.
The Senator further urged local administrators to continue with the fight against illicit brews saying it anti- developmental.
"Brewing and drinking of liquor is negatively affecting our county's development. I urge local chiefs to ensure brewing of such liquor is done away with," added Mong'are.
