An opposition lawmaker has hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta for apparently giving up the fight on corruption and crying foul.
Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang said Tuesday the recent claims by President Uhuru that he could not deal with graft was in bad taste and failed to inspire any hopes among Kenyans whom he said are looking up to him to address the rampant vice.
"That was very unfortunate for the President. He is the Head of State and as such must deal firmly with graft. If he gives up, who will address this crisis," he told Radio Citizen.
He also scoffed at Uhuru's remarks last Friday that Cord leader Raila Odinga is being petty by constantly opposing the development agenda started by the Jubilee administration insisting that Raila will always crusade against social injustices such as corruption.
"Why must the President hit out at Raila for always stating the obvious. There is graft all over and it is not strange that Odinga has been revealing them one after the other. Crying foul and making demeaning remarks about Mr Odinga is totally uncalled," he added.
