Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatang'i has strongly warned governors against the misuse of funds released to the counties by the Treasury.He called for propriety and integrity in the use of the 77 billion shillings to be disbursed following the signing of the County Revenue Allocation Bill signed by President Uhuru Kenyatta a fortnight ago.Wamatang'i said that proper use of the billions would transform lives, urging governors to stick to their development plans.''The counties should spend that money on development and not squander it through unnecessary trips abroad or any form of questionable expenditure. 77 billion shillings is a lot of money to do a lot of good through notable developments, it can change lives.'' Senator Wamatang'i said according to the Sunday Nation.He assured Kenyans that the Senate would play its oversight role firmly and go after county bosses who misuse public funds.
