Nominated Senator Martha Wangari(Jubilee nominee for Gilgil Constituency).Senator Wangari has called on the electorate to vote for women leaders in order for them to offer alternative leadership.
Nominated senator Martha Wangari is now the Jubilee nominee for Gilgil constituency this is after she succeeded in an appeal against the incumbent MP Mathenge Nderitu.
Wangari’s appeal against the nomination of the incumbent Gilgil MP Mathenge Nderitu was allowed last week leading to jubilation in the entire constituency.
Speaking in Gilgil town on Sunday during a thanks giving ceremony, Senator Wangari also called on the electorate to vote for women leaders in order for them to offer alternative leadership.
The Gilgil constituency Jubilee party nominee lauded Kenyans for nominating more women in the recently concluded party primaries adding that it was evident that Kenyans have trust in women leadership.
“Apart from offering directional leadership, election of many women in the forthcoming general elections will be a great stride towards achieving the two third gender rule,” said Martha.
According to the Nominated Senator who has been very vocal on Women and youths agenda in Senate, jubilee party has shown the direction by becoming the first party through which women have been nominated to vie for gubernatorial and senator seats.
She also took the moment to challenge women to rise to the occasion and support their own since women have numbers to enable the country have more women leaders whose leadership
“Women should also support their own. We know women have numbers and their leadership has been tried tested and proven in many areas,” she said.
The Senator at the same time called on those who lost in the jubilee party primaries to support the party fully in order to ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta makes it for the second term.
