The nominated senator, who cannot be named for fear of reprisal, said the two erred by appointing persons who have indicated intentions to run for different seats in 2017.

“The referee can’t be the player. President Kenyatta and his deputy had promised there will be no politicians in Jubilee’s inner circle. That is not what we have witnessed, and I can tell you this will hurt Jubilee in 2017,” the senator said.

According to the leader, those appointed and wants to run will use their positions within Jubilee to endear themselves.

“Already the party leadership has shown some people in the 2017 race are more equal than others. This is unacceptable,” the senator added.

In Rift Valley region, the likes of Joyce Laboso, Susan Kihiaka, John Munyes among others have been appointed to lead Jubilee’s reelection team.

At the same time, a majority of those chosen have also indicated interest in different positions.
