Nyamira Senator Okong'o Mong'are has challenged governor John Nyagarama to fire Education and ICT County Executive Committee member Janet Komenda for reportedly joining politics.
Komenda announced her intentions to run against incumbent Women Representative Alice Chae on a Ford Kenya ticket in 2017 polls.
But according to Okong'o, Komenda's move was unconstitutional adding that she should formerly resign from office before running for a political office.
"The law is very clear that public officers should not engage in politics less they resign. The governor should crack a whip on her and appoint someone ready to adhere to the constitutional provisions," he said during at interview with the reporter on Sunday.
while is not yet clear why Komenda defied the law, she was however flanked by senior Nyamira County government officials during Moses Wetangula's Sunday tour in Nyamira.
