Vihiga Senator George Khaniri said Wednesday that the region will not abandon the proposed National Super Alliance (NASA) for the Jubilee Party, the Star has reported.

He at the same time said the opposition will defeat Jubilee by a wider margin in the forthcoming general election.

“The margin of defeat will be too big to be manipulated. Not even President Moi was able to rig the 2002 election that ended Kanu’s reign despite having state machinery because of the huge margin of defeat,” the Senator said.

“We will guard against rigging this time round. It will be foolish for us to be rigged out a third time. What shall we tell Kenyans?” he said.

ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula both from the western region are among the top contenders for the opposition’s presidential ticket.

Others in the proposed NASA line up are ODM’s Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper.
