A Mombasa Senate hopeful was on Tuesday arrested over claims of causing chaos during the Wiper Party nominations.Confirming the incident, Urban officer commanding police station (OCPD) Lucas Ogara said Kongowea MCA Jabess Oduor was arrested at the Furaha Primary School in Nyali for allegedly inciting voters at the poling station to cause chaos, the Nation reports.Oduor, who ditched ODM for Wiper over fears of being rigged out of the nominations, was released on a Sh60,000 cash bail and will be arraigned in court today (Wednesday).The MCA has however denied the allegations, saying he was arrested for raising genuine concerns about the nomination process."They wanted to cart away ballot boxes but I refused because voting time had not closed," said Oduor, as quoted by The Star.This comes after Wiper Party Secretary General Hassan Omar warned that any aspirant who will engage in violence will be disqualified from contesting in the August polls.
