Machakos Senatorial aspirant Carlos Kioko has taken a swipe at Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama for allegedly fighting the governor Dr Alfred Mutua since he took over power.
According to Kioko, Machakos has continued to lag behind when it comes to matters of development because Muthama is ever fighting with Mutua over various issues.
Addressing Machakos residents at the Mulu Mutisya Gardens on Friday, Kioko said that Muthama is to blame for the slow growth of the area. The aspirant compared the senator a company manager who does not understand his role.
“The problem we have in Machakos is that the senator does not understand his role. He has opposed the manifesto of the current governor and caused the loss of jobs for hundreds of our youths by going to court to oppose the creation of the New Machakos City,” he said, as quoted by Nations.
Kioko has exuded confidence that he will floor Muthama in the forthcoming general polls. He further argues that he is the right man to change the lives of Kambas if elected to power.
The aspirant will be banking on his close relationship with Maendeleo Chap Chap boss to clinch the seat. Meanwhile, Muthama has remained unfazed since Kioko entered the race to unseat him.
