Nominated Senator Janet Ong’era has yet again thrown a scathing attack on the Jubilee government by terming it a ‘failed’ regime.
Ong’era skipped the one and a half hours state of the nation address in national parliament by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday.
Speaking to us in an exclusive interview on today, Ong’era accused Jubilee government of biased development in opposition strongholds.
“Kenya is a democratic state and in democracy, there is the minority and majority. Apparently being in opposition here, it’s a crime against humanity,” she said.
“Opposition strongholds are neglected simply because their leaders are executing their obligations as watchdogs. Jubilee has failed Kenyans and they don’t deserve the attention of any right thinking Kenyan,” she added.
She also accused the government of massive graft pointing to the NYS, Youth fund and Euro bond scandals as examples of how Jubilee government has injured the economy of the country.
“The government is full of corrupt individuals. The President is always mum on NYS scandal; he never speaks of National Youth Fund and has always remained defiant in the Euro bond saga. There is no good will to fight corruption,” added the ODM senator.
She defended her colleague who were thrown out of the parliament chambers for disrupting the president’s speech in the August House.
“They expressed their discontent with the government because the President is never ready to listen. They passed the message and I think the President will learn from the incident,” she said.
