Homa Bay County Assembly Accountant Mr. Maurice Amek is nursing various injuries after being shot by unknown people.

Mr. Amek was shot next to his gate in Sofia Estate, Homa Bay Town, on Thursday night.

Homabay County Assembly Clerk Bob Kephers confirmed the report of Amek’s shooting. 

Kephers said he received news that Mr. Amek had been shot around 8pm as he entered his compound.

County Police Commander Marius Tum, said his officers are investigating the incident.

Mr. Amek was rushed to Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital, and later transferred to a Kisumu hospital.

The extent of the officer’s injuries is still not known neither is the identity of his attackers.
