Nyokabi said that motorists need to be educated on road regulations and policies.

Speaking in Kamwangi, Gatundu South on Thursday during the burial of five people from the same family who perished in the Ndenderu accident two weeks ago, Nyokabi noted that most motorists are not aware of road regulations and policies.

She stated that there is need for NTSA and other stakeholders to emphasize on the need for motorists to adhere to road regulations.

The Kiambu Women Representative warned that accidents will continue to take place if sensitizations are not done.

“The NTSA should organize for sensitization forums and awareness campaigns across the country on the need to observe road regulations,” she said.

Ms Nyokabi also asked the NTSA to erect more road signs and expand roads.

She noted that some roads are too narrow while other lacks enough road signs resulting to road carnages.

Nyokabi at the same time asked the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to take stern action against police officers who demand for bribes.

She noted that bribery among some traffic officers is also to blame for the high accidents being experienced in some parts of the country.
