Former IEBC commissioner Thomas Letangule. He says it will be a logistical nightmare for Iebc to have two separate ballot printing [nation. co.ke].It will be a logistical nightmare for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to separate the presidential ballot printing from the other five ballot printing.Former IEBC Commissioner Thomas Letangule has told Citizen TV that the package for the 6 elections from MCA to President, comes in one container which has all the ballots for each an every ward, constituency and polling station as packaged by the printer."There will be financial as well as logistic implications to the IEBC. That is where the court failed to look at the public interest. You can't partially walk out of one ballot printing out of the five. The Court of Appeal I think will give a stay orders," Letangule said on Tuesday during the Big Question."Remember Iebc has signed one contract with the printer (Al Ghurai) and now you are telling them to separate one ballot printing from the other five. You are telling them that one ballot printing has a problem and the other five are okay. That is where the contradiction is," he added. He also faulted the Jubilee party for castigating the High Court for the judgement they made ordering a fresh tendering of presidential ballot printing.Letangule noted that tantrums at public rallies won't solve the matter at hand and the only way to go was to follow the legal path."The way to go is either appeal the decision which Iebc has done or either seek for fresh tendering. But Iebc shouldn't wait for the Court of Appeal decision, they should have a contingency plan you and engage another printer abroad preferably in Europe," Letangule said.
