Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i said through a notice on Wednesday.

"Employers should allow them(Muslims) to be away from work but for non-Muslims, this will be a normal working day," said Matiang'i.

Matiang'i who doubles as the Education Cs noted the holiday is only listed for Muslims though plans are underway for a change.

He said changes will be announced once a bill will be presented in Parliament to make it a national public holiday.

Idd Ul Adha also known as sacrifice feast is celebrated worldwide each year.

Muslims celebrate the day to honor the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac as an act of obedience to God's command.
