Former Konoin MP Julius Kones believes National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso should remain in parliament if she wants to avoid an impending humiliation in the gubernatorial race.
Kones adds that his experience in politics puts him a pole position to beat Governor Isaac Ruto in August 8 elections.
Kones, who finished second in 2013 on a KANU ticket, will be battling for Jubilee party ticket with Laboso, a second term Sotik MP.
“I am just challenging my friend Laboso to remain in the National assembly for some time. I really want her to serve the people of Sotik and Kenya for some time,” he said in his Konoin backyard on Saturday.
“She is a scholar whom we adore so much and I don’t want her politics to end at this time when the country needs her. I am sure of winning Jubilee nominations because I have been in this game for a long time,” he added.
Laboso, also a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, has declared her intention to dislodge Governor Isaac Ruto in 2015.
