Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has urged the newly appointed members of the county executive committee to serve the public devotedly. The seven members who were approved by the Kwale County Assembly took their oath of office on Monday. The county boss urged the CeCs to remain humble and carry out their duties diligently in a bid to improve the living standards of residents in the county."Your mandate is to devotedly serve the public to achieve the development goals in the county and improve lives,” said Mvurya. However, three out of the ten nominees were rejected by the MCAs.The move was not received well by a section of residents who filed a petition seeking to have Safina Tsungu who was nominated by Mvurya to head the Tourism and Enterprise docket sworn in.The governor is reported to have sacked two of the executive members who served in his previous administration.Mvurya successfully defended his seat during the August 8 polls on a Jubilee ticket after decamping from the Raila Odinga-led ODM Party.
