Kisii County Government has been urged to set aside funds to install water and electricity at Daraja Mbili slaughter house.
Addressing the press in Kisii Town on Friday, Kisii county assembly PAC committee chair David Bwana said Daraja mbili slaughter house should have water and electricity for the benefit of residents hygienically.
“We want our county government to set aside money to install water, drainage system, electricity and perimeter wall at Daraja Mbili slaughter house,” said Bwana.
Daraja Mbili slaughter house was closed due to poor hygiene condition and for renovation and is expected to be reopened soon to offer services.
According to Kisii county assembly agriculture committee chair Ishmael Bosire they visited the place on Thursday and stated that renovation of the slaughterhouse has been completed internally and externally and is expected to be completed soon.
A section of Kisii Town residents have been challenging the county to speed up the renovation since most of them depend on the slaughterhouse.
“Since Daraja Mbili slaughter house closed down we have been suffering for long and we urge the county government to speed up the renovation and reopen the place for our benefit and for the county economically,” said Stephine Monari.
