An investor in Kisii County has urged the government and Member of the National Assembly to set up computer laboratories for lower and upper primary nationally to enhance the learners’ with computer skills.
Ben Mogaka lauded the government’s free laptops project but added that it is necessary for all children to be exposed digital technology to foster e-learning.
Mogaka noted that it will be difficult for the standard one children to remember the computer skills they learn since it is not embraced in subsequent classes.
Speaking at Maburi primary school in Nyaribari Chache constituency where he launched school feeding program for standard seven and eight pupils, he urged parents to provide basic items for their children to boost their education standards and performance in national examinations.
“Children from poor families lack adequate food, sometimes they sleep hungry and that makes them not to concentrate in class, leading to a dismal performance in local and national examinations,” noted Mogaka.
“As the leaders and politicians we need to come up with the measures which will help our schools in terms of good results, by knowing the problems in our school we will be able to help so that the best standards can be achieved,” added Mogaka.
