Parents have been challenged to work with the school management in curbing fire incidents by guiding their children with the right morals.
Addressing the congregation on Sunday at Matutu PAG church pastor Ronald Ogentoto challenged parents to make sure that as the school reopens this week their children are well advised.
Ogentoto said that most of the schools were affected by fire incidents the last term was allegedly caused by students who were supported by the community.
“We were shocked to hear that the fire incidents at some schools were caused by students who were supported by their parents," said Ogetonto.
"The incident at Nyamagwa in Kisii county should come out as an example to all parents in guiding their children in the proper ways,” said Ogentoto.
In addition, he said that parents should know how to address issues in their schools without involving their children.
“We might have some issues in our schools but let us not involve our children in the destruction of properties since we are the ones who are are still going to cater for the losses,” said Ogentoto.
He also challenged the management more so the school heads to have a mechanism in place in aid of detecting early signs of unrest among the students.
