Seven people pleaded guilty before a resident magistrate court in Nakuru for breaking traffic rules.

Two of them James Kariuki 35, and Moses Maina 45, were fined Sh.5,000 each by the court for over-speeding.

According to the prosecution desk the accused were arrested by traffic police on December 9 this year while breaking traffic rules along Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

John Muchiri 27, and Joseph Kimaru 36, were fined Sh.10,000 each for carrying excess passengers.

Presiding magistrate Patrick Mwaniki was informed that the accused were arrested by traffic police officers manning a road block near the the Kenya Industrial Training Institute along Nakuru-Nyahururu highway on December 9 this year .

Philip Kagwe,33 was fined Sh.20,000 for operating a motor cycle taxi without a driving license. The court also fined Peter Mburu 30, Sh.4,000 for dropping passengers at an unspecified spot along Nakuru-Njoro road on December 8 while George Wesonga, 40, and Francis Kiuna, 34, were fined Sh.15,000 each for resisting arrest and for over -speeding along Nakuru-Nairobi highway.
