The Holy book contains lots of warnings about how tempting and dangerous it is to get involved with alcohol.
Consumption of alcohol has been a hot topic in Christianity and although drinking is not condemned in the Bible, there are many warnings against drunkenness.
It is also important to note that the bible does not teach total abstinence from alcohol but here are seven scriptures that forbid drinking;
Proverbs 20:1
Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, And whoever is intoxicated by it is not wise.
Isaiah 5:22
Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine And valiant men in mixing strong drink
Isaiah 5:11
Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!I
Timothy 3:8
Likewise, must the deacons be grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre.
Ephesians 5:6
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
Romans 13:13
Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.
Numbers 6:3
He shall abstain from wine and strong drink; he shall drink no vinegar, whether made from wine or strong drink nor shall he drink any grape juice nor eat fresh or dried grapes.
