[Photo| Courtesy]Following the resignation of Vihiga United FC head coach Edward Manoah and a subsequent advertisement for the same by the team's EC, Executive Committee coaches including seven foreigners have applied to replace the 2017 SOYA nominee for the best coach of the year category award.Manoah who had resigned on claims that the new government was not going to renew his contract that was due in April, is however among the 12 who have shown interest in the 2017 NSL champions that earned them an automatic qualication to the KPL.The team's Executive Committee has received applications from Jean Claude from France, Paulo De' Santos from Portugal, former AFC Leopards coach James Nandwa and Ezekiel Akwana among others.Executive Committee chairman Indimuli Kahi has said the free, fair and transparent recruitment process was at its final stages and the new technician shall be unveiled on Monday January 8, assuring fans that they would hire a competent coach who will lead the team to the top as their mission states; 'Heading to the top'.Kahi further noted that intact United had not lost a player to any club instead dropped 12 players led by former Kenyan international Martin Imbalambala and reclaimed Mike Isabwa who had moved to Nairobi's Kariobangi Sharks.The Vihiga County sponsored side already resumed training at Kidundu stadium in readiness for their preseason training as part of their preparation ahead of the start of the Kenyan top tier League early March.Other coaches whose applications are with the EC include Zoran Pesic of Serbia, Trevor Morgan from Australia, Roy Barreto from Portugal, Giovonni Costantino of Italy, South Africa's Enoch Ken Yamonbe and Paulo jorge do Santos from Portugal and former Kenyan international striker Francis Chinjili.
