Several houses have been burnt down along the Gusii -Narok border following fresh clashes at Olmelil.

According to the Daily Nation, 1 suspect is being held at  Ramasha police station after he was linked to the burning of houses in the region.

Olmelil Location Chief Mr Richard Korgoren told the Nation that arsonists stormed his neighborhood at around 10:00 pm on Thursday night and torched his neighbor's house.

“I was asleep and suddenly heard people screaming. When I came out, I saw my neighbor's house on fire,” Chief Richard as quoted by Nation.

Kipsigis and Kisii community youths were dispersed by police after they started fighting.  

2 houses were torched in Gusii land.

GSU officers from Njipship camp and AP officers from Ramasha police station helped to restore peace after firing in the air.

A resident Christopher Mogaka told the Nation that police gunshots in the air dispersed the warring parties.

The 2 communities have been fighting citing border conflict and cattle rustling.
