A number of voters were on Tuesday morning injured with some being taken to hospital hospitalised following a stampede at Moi Avenue Primary School in Nairobi's Starehe constituency.
Hundreds of agitated voters at the polling centre got involved in push and pull leading to the stampede.
The polling station has 14,021 registered voters and by as early as 12am Tuesday, they had started arriving at the station to cast their votes.
Majority of the injured were women who fell down and got trampled on.
Luckily, there was an ambulance on standby and those injured were rushed to hospital. was lucky to walk away with a limp.
“Although I am happy to have finally voted, i have injured and i am now limping home,’’ said one of those at the station.
