Police in Nakuru are holding 10 matatus plying different routes within Nakuru for trying to force their way in and out of the Central Business District (CBD) after different roads were closed during the the Madaraka day celebrations at the Afraha stadium on Wednesday.
County traffic commandant Charlton Mureithi said the arrests were as a result of ignoring police orders. Those arrested will be arraigned in court on Thursday.
He said that a lot of sensitization had been done across different stages within the town on the issue.
"We will treat this as ignorance and indiscipline because we had not only informed them that some roads would be closed but also barricaded the roads but they went ahead to go past our sign posts," he said.
"It was obvious that the town was hosting high profile visitors including the president and a change to the normal flow of traffic was inevitable. These are just individuals out to make our work hard by causing unnecessary trouble," he added.
