Speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Nakuru town, Achieng, who expressed her disappointment with the county government following the recent deaths of their colleagues, also blamed the devolved unit for the tragedy that met their fellow workers.

"We are going to hold another demonstration because as it appears, the county government of Nakuru under the leadership of Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has failed to protect us in the recent past. The past one year has seen nine of our colleagues killed in Nakuru, something that puts our lives at stake," Achieng stated.

She, however, complained that in most of the incidents, the police have failed to arrest the assailants and take action on them.

"One of us was found dead at a lodging in Flamingo Estate earlier this week but the police have not done enough to get those involved in the incident in order to punish them accordingly," Achieng stated.

"Our business is normal and therefore we should be respected which includes providing us security during our operations," Achieng further added.
