Following increased cases of disabled girls being sexually violated in Limuru over the past few months.
The disability group in Limuru has today come out and slammed the cases wanting a stop put to them. This comes after a 14-year old girl was on Tuesday rescued by members of the public from her forty-year-old uncle who she had been living with for seven months. The man has been continuously defiling the girl.
Addressing the media, today at his office in Limuru town, the chairman of the disability group in Limuru, Daniel Kirigu, said that cases of sexual abuse among disabled girls are rampant and action needs to be taken up as soon as possible so as to curb these incidences.
He said that most of these cases are committed by family members.
Kirigu also urged different women groups to help by advocating for the stop of sexual abuse carried out on disabled girls.
He mentioned the incident was the first this year and they did not want these cases to go on. He pointed out that disabled people have their rights and the law should take its place and punish those who conduct this vice.
