Area Governor Jackson Mandago said that his government is committed to providing quality healthcare services.

“My government knows the importance of providing quality and efficient health services to residents, the county has set aside adequate funds to upgrade Ziwa and Burnt Forest health centres to referral hospitals,” he said.

Mandago noted that many residents are still finding it hard to access medical care saying that the county government will work hard to ensure they get the desired services.

The Governor said that funds have also been set aside to buy medicine and modern equipment for hospitals and health centres in the county.

He added that the county is working with the World Health Organisation (WHO) to buy ambulances for all heath centres in the county.

“In efforts meant to improve response to emergency, the county government in collaboration with WHO will procure over 15 ambulances by the end of this financial year,” said Mandago.

The Governor added that already procurement of four ambulances has been completed saying they will be deployed to identified hospitals immediately.
