The young couple who touched the hearts of Kenyans by conducting a Sh100 wedding has received a Sh1 million investment project from a well wisher.
Diamond Properties accorded them the investment that includes a plot of land worth Sh500 000 as well as a Sh320 000 greenhouse with a capsicum crop in Kajiado's Isinya area.
According to the company’s Sales and Marketing Director Edwin Khiranga, ‘the management responded to the heartwarming social media story that the young couple’s wedding received’.
“And this is to let you know that as you start your journey into marriage, this is an investment. You will now be farmers by extension where you will be getting at least Sh450 000 returns per year,” said Mr Khiranga as quoted by the Star.
He spoke this when he handed over the project to 27-year-old Wilson Wanjohi and his wife Ann Muhonja, 23.
The two made news headlines when someone shared a story of their humble wedding conducted at Kasarani's Community Christian Worship Church on Sunday, January 22.
Their wedding reportedly cost only Sh100 spent of buying two Sh50 rings.
The story sparked a lot of discussion on social media and prompted people of good will to sponsor their honeymoon at the Diani beach in Mombasa.
They have also been sponsored big wedding ceremony where family and friends will come together to celebrate their nuptials.
