A head teacher has been issued a six-year jail term for soliciting Sh10,000 bribe in Machakos County.
Machakos Anti-Corruption Court on Thursday found the Wakaela Secondary School's principal, Paul Nduve Sila, guilty of soliciting and receiving the bribe from a local contractor.
Sila is said to have received the bribe to serve as a benefit to releasing payment for the supply of computers and accessories to the school.
The ruling was issued by Senior Principal Magistrate Abdul Lorot of the Machakos Anti-Corruption Court.
However, Kenyans on social media aren't impressed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)'s achievement on corruption arguing that big fishes involved in various multi-million scandals have been left by the agency to walk freely.
The commision has been castigated for circulating the news on social media as an achievement.
EACC officials have been told to pull up their socks and ensure that they nab the big fishes pocketing billions of public funds.
Most of the Kenyans on social media said this could be the utmost achievement.
Here are some of the replies by twitter users;@joaonyii Replying to @EACCKenyadeal with the big fish costing the country billions, 10k is just pocket change which shouldn't be put on your twitter page as an achievement.
@Abkallo Replying to @EACCKenyaAnd you expect us to hail you for this when you're letting those swindling billions to go scot free?
