Speaking on Thursday in Machakos town, Kalembe condemned the government stating that the families had lost their children who they hoped will help them in future.

“It is shameful for the government to be offering such a little money to parents, in grief of children death, who few weeks ago had hope of a better future for themselves and the whole family,” said Kalembe.

The politician further suggested that the families receive full compensation of between Sh1 million to Sh2 million from the government.

“The Garissa terror victims should receive not less than Sh1 million or 2 million as compensation of losing their promising young ones whom they had dedicated resources and invested a lot of money on their education up to University level,” he added.

Kalembe also urged the government to compensate the victims who have died previously from poisonous alcohol in licensed bars from different counties.

“The government should be taking dull responsibility in cases when citizens lose their lives for failure of government’s security. People who lost their lives from alcohol containing methanol that were stocked in licensed bars should also be compensated,” said Kalembe.
