Speaking on Tuesday during the budget reading in Machakos County Assembly, Musyoka stated that 26% of the budget was allocated to health department.

"The health and medical department is receiving 26% portion of the 2016/17 budget with every Ward receiving 20 Million," said Musyoka.

During the reading, it was made clear that Machakos County would receive Sh8 billion from the National government while Sh2 billion would come from collection of taxes.

This follows promise by the Governor of Machakos Dr Alfred Mutua in April to employ over 800 nurses by July 2016.

"My government is aimed at improving health care services and through the 2016/17 budget we will be able to employ 800 doctors and nurses," said Mutua.
